I couldn't help but add this feature to the site, as it seemed quite poignant that an aircraft some sixty years old was still earning her keep and embarking on yet another mission, along with the long list of others she has forfilled throughout her life.
Below are some shots of N287 undergoing maintenance at "Wings over Miami" museum at Tamiami-Kendall, Miami in May 2008. The Super cat was in the middle of a maintenance overhall prior to its delivery to an unknown buyer in Borneo and "was" to be used as a supply ship for a luxury yacht that cruises around the south China Sea.
The guys who were doing the maintenance were obviously upset at the thought of losing their baby as she had been the centre of many an airshow in the Miami region and carried hundreds of fare payning customers both at airshows and on longer exursuions to locations like the Bahamas.

This aircraft is one of of a very few PBY's holding the FAA Standard Airworthiness Certificate which allows it to carry passengers.
