Lee Proudfoot performed his first routine
of 2009 with an amazing display at a private function, on the 27th April 2009.
Lee is without a doubt the finest display
pilot on the warbird circuit today, with the remarkable ability to demonstrate the aeroplane he flies with the unique
and gracefull art of an aerial dancer.
Flying at private venues and parties allows
him a certain amount of freedom when it comes down to the flight line and only then, when you see him step away from
the two dimentional viewpoint we all see at the usual airshow displays, do you grasp the true beauty of the Spitfire
and his remarkable ability to show of his incredible display skills.
Spitfire MH434 is in itself a trully stunning
aeroplane and with Lee at the controls, she takes on an alsmost surreal appearance as he performs his trademark aerobatics.
The man is truely the master of his art and if there is one display I make a
point of watching at an airshow it is his.
Lee is a true gentleman and on the times I have met him he is always quiet and unasuming
and has a mature and friendly attitude.
He has been a professional
formation display pilot since 1991 and has flown 8000 hours in over 60 different types of aircraft, with around 2,500 hrs
on warbirds. He has flown for various commercial airlines and spent 7 ‘exciting’ (and very cold!) years
as chief pilot, ‘Bush’ flying in the Antarctic for the British Antarctic Survey.
So if you have a spare £3500 or so
to spend on an event that will truly make the perfect climax to that special day, give Lee a call at the "Old Flying
Machine Company" and experience the emotion of utter fulfilment
