Set Five:
These are all
at Renton at the South end of Lake Washington in the Seattle area and where the original Boeing plant
is located which builds the 737s.
In
the first eight shots the guy in the light blue jeans is Norm Koerner who's been flying this A26 for 20 years including taking
her to Moscow with Lady Barbie Abel and flying her when the wing spar flange cracked during a steep turn over a small airshow
in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota 12 years ago, I'll get some more shots of Norm when he's here in a few weeks.
The
guy pointing up at the wing is our fantastic crew chief Brad Meeuwse also seen in the 2 shots squatting on top of the wing
with oily rags. The sinister thin man in black walking toward the plane in the first photo is our pilot Joe Haley a
big driver with tons of round engine experience and a list of type ratings that goes off one page onto another, he's also
in a shot with Brad and in 2 shots standing on the right with Merrill Wien in the middle and me on the left. Merrill
just flew and got current in Sexy Sue and he gave me an hour of stick time when I flew with him in "Fifi" the CAF B29 from
Seattle to Wichita in 1998, a legendary pilot few of us could even begin to match. The guy standing proud and happy
in front of Sexy Sue is our engine man Ray Anderson shot taken in Grangeville Idaho a few weeks ago just before we started
up his big mills, and the vimeo links were taken by one of Ray's mechanics as we left to fly back to Renton. In the
last shot the dude 2nd from right is our #1 son Colin (in the stripes) with his mates enjoying the human art form.
